Garment labelling

• While packaging is vital to the consumer purchasing cycle, garment labelling is the link between the consumer and the retailer throughout the lifecycle of the garment.

• There are a number of reasons as to why garment labelling is important, woven labels allow retailers to be recognised from a branding perspective, care labels are required by law in many countries to ensure safety and garment longevity, while heat transfers can remove the need for labels on garments where traditional labels may be irritating, such as sports clothing.

• As labels need to be made to last throughout a garments lifecycle, it is vitally important that they be made with quality at its heart. That’s why we ensure that our labels cover the required legal information and are made to last.

Woven labels

• Labels are a retailer’s link to their customers for the lifecycle of the garment. Bearing the name and design of your brand, they allow for your garment to associate their garment with your brand, and recommend your products to other people.

• The importance of labels is still important today, if a customer is asked where the got a garment from, and cannot remember, they often refer to the label.

• You may also wish to include variable data labels to indicate size or collection, as part of your woven labels, to better direct customers.

Care labels

• In many countries, it is a legal obligation to include a certain amount of care and country of origin information in order to best educate customers as to garment production and garment care.

• These labels can also include a range of point of sale information needed by retailers when it comes to identifying and processing garments on the shop floor and in the warehouse, particularly if it is defective and tracking is required.

Heat transfers

• On garments where stitched labels might prove to be irritating or undesirable, such as sports clothing and clothing for babies and infant children, heat transfers can be a great alternative.

• A lack of physical label means that retailer’s branding cannot be removed, but also it removes a potential irritant for those with sensitive skin, or where there is a higher risk of abrasion (for example, exercise).

Leather labels & patches

• A more durable alternative, leather labels and patches can be affixed to the exterior of a garment to provide a richer product in terms of texture and colour. Ideal for jeans, jackets, and other garments that sport a stronger material.
